A self-serve Shopify return portal that lives on your storefront
Shoppers start, choose, and track their return themselves — on your domain, under your branding — instead of emailing you photos and order numbers. You see every return land in one queue.
What the shopper sees
- Find the order — they enter their order number and email on your storefront. If your store uses Shopify's new customer accounts, signed-in customers can skip even that and start the return from their account, where their login is the verification.
- Pick items and reasons — per-item selection from a standard set of return reasons, with the per-reason handling you control — including photo uploads when your policy asks for them.
- Choose the outcome — store credit (with any bonus you choose to offer) side by side with the original-payment refund — on by default, yours to keep or hide — or an exchange. The math is shown before they submit, including any return fee you charge.
- Track it — a status page with the same timeline you see: approved, shipped, delivered, refunded or credited — with live carrier scans whenever a label or tracking number is on file.
On your domain, without touching your theme
The portal is served through Shopify's app proxy, so it renders at a path on your own storefront domain — not a third-party site your shoppers have never heard of. It carries your store name, your logo, and your accent color, and there are no theme edits or code changes to make: install the app, run the setup wizard, and the portal is live. It also runs in eight languages, matched automatically to each shopper — English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German, French, Italian, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
Behind the scenes, every submission is checked before it reaches you: return windows and product rules from the policy you configure, plus abuse signals — repeat-returner flags and risk thresholds — so the queue you review is already filtered to what needs a human.
What happens on your side
Each return lands in one queue with its items, refund-or-credit amount, status, and carrier tracking on a single row. Approve it yourself, or let your rules approve the routine ones automatically; store credit is issued to the customer's account when you mark the item received — or at submission, if you opt in to instant credit — and refunds go back to the original payment method. If the shopper needs a label, the label layer can offer one — free, paid, or self-ship — as part of the same flow, through your own label-provider account, or you can buy and attach one yourself from the queue. And when the better outcome for everyone is a swap rather than money back, exchanges run through the same portal.
The whole portal is included, and right now it costs nothing: stores that install during the founding window get the Founding plan — every feature, unlimited returns, $0 a month and no per-return fee — and they keep it for as long as the app stays installed. Bonus credit, photos, exchanges, labels, rules, abuse signals, all eight languages, and your own branding in place of ours are part of it, not held back for a higher tier. Paid plans will return for new installs later; founding stores are never migrated to them and never asked to pay. The plan is laid out on the pricing page, and how to offer store credit covers the credit setup.
